Pew research: 15 percent of adults steer clear of the Internet
WASHINGTON, Sept. 25 () -- Contrary to popular belief, not everyone is going online -- 15 percent of U.S adults say they shun the Internet, a Pew survey released Wednesday indicated.Another 9 percent of adults polled say they use the Internet, but not at home, results of the Pew Internet and American Life project indicated.At 34 percent, the leading reason cited for not using the Internet was that the information superhighway wasn't relevant, said Pew, based in Washington.Thirty-two percent of non-Internet users cite reasons tied to the idea that the Internet is too complicated.Nineteen percent of non-Internet users cite the expense of owning a computer or paying for an Internet connection while 7 percent cited a physical lack of availability or access, results showed.
