SANTA BARBARA, Calif., July 18 () -- Software company DreamHammer Inc. has successfully demonstrated its commercial multi-drone operating system for the U.S. military. The system, called Ballista, is an out-of-the-box control segment support system with plug-and-play architecture and can be integrated into any unmanned aerial and is suited for civilian use as well as military use."Currently, the Department of Defense has the world's largest UAS fleet and the greatest need for affordability, therefore it was key to our customers to prove Ballista's ability to meet the UCS (unmanned aerial system control segment) interoperability standards out of the box," said Nelson Paez, chief executive officer of DreamHammer."We believe strongly that by supporting this standard the industry can begin to create the universal interoperability of drones which will enable the explosive growth of drones in both the government and commercial markets."Drones will be everywhere and used for everything whether for military or commercial purposes. By supporting UCS, drone manufacturers and developers using Ballista will have access to an annual $6.6 billion market," he said."The demonstrations were held for the Department of Defense and manufacturers of unmanned aerial vehicles.DreamHammer said that with its system a single operator can manage several UAS platforms simultaneously.
