Ghost Stories is current playing at The Duke of York's Theatre London. Direct from a sell-out season at the Lyric Hammersmith, comes Ghost Stories a truly terrifying theatrical experience. Written and directed by The League of [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] Gentlemen's master [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] of the macabre, Jeremy Dyson, and Andy Nyman, co-creator and director of Derren Brown's television and stage shows and star of Dead Set and Severance this is one event not to miss.
Please be advised that Ghost Stories contains [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] moments of extreme shock and tension. The show is unsuitable for anybody [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] under the age of 15. We strongly advise those of a nervous disposition to [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] think quite seriously prior to attending.
Brief history of The Duke of York's Theatre: The theatre opened on 10th September, 1892 with Wedding Eve. It was built for Frank Wyatt [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] and his wife Violet Melnotte. It was first referred to as Trafalgar Square Theatre, which was then shortened to Trafalgar Theatre, and the following year became The Duke of [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] York's Theatre to honour the future King George V.
In 1900, Jerome K Jerome's Miss Hobbs was staged as well as David Belasco's Madame Butterfly, which was seen by Puccini, who later [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] turned it into the renowned opera. Within [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] Radio was Rose, starring Glenda Jackson.
The Ambassador Theatre Group bought the theatre in 1992 and this coincided [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] with London's hottest show, The Royal Court's production of Ariel Dorfman's Death along with the Maiden. A host of successes followed including Richard O'Brien's The Rocky Horror Show - celebrating its 21st Birthday along with the hugely effective Royal Court Classics Season in 1995.
The Duke of York's has played host to the Royal Court and the highly acclaimed co-production [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] of The Weir, which ran for over 2 years and won the 1999 Olivier Award for [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] Best New [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] Play. It has also had a sell-out run of Stones In His [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] Pockets, winner of the 2001 Olivier awards for Finest Comedy and Finest Comedy Actor.
