Another good looks of a generation

Reaction to Gould story being chillier than Gould regard for Bradshaw and her buddies. The typically staid Times comments section roiled with readers who were practically apoplectic in their loathing for Gould. More annoying and twisted is the fact that those meager spots for ladies are consistently filled by those willing to expose themselves, visually and emotionally. Maddening to have to wonder Carrie Bradshaw-style if Gould story might have run had she not been beautiful,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and maddening to then hate oneself to have had to wonder that at all.
But perhaps most maddening may be the way the buildup of critical focus on an item like Gould in order to a cultural phenomenon like only affirms that certain types of women, in support of those types of women, are worth elevating to start with, in part due to the delight people consume tearing them down.

And like their male contemporaries, a lot of this writing disappoints. When it does, there is nothing wrong with criticizing it. The thing that is wrong really wrong is when we forget that these kinds of stories aren't the sole ones that women need to tell.
So instead of being troubled by the fact that Gould or Bushnell, or Bradshaw, or whoever has got the spotlight, why not question why so few other versions of femininity can share it?
