Leave it to Sideshow to come up with something completely unique for holiday gift-giving, perfect for the horror fan on your shopping list. The Dead is a line of 12 highly detailed and articulated zombie figures. The line includes several beautifully designed figures that will make any zombie fan spine tingle with glee! The latest figure in the line is Subject 805: Tactical Containment Unit Operator. Apparently this soldier didn do his job well enough.
This big ugly has had most of his face, including his lower jaw torn away,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], leaving his tongue dangling like some useless appendage. The stub that once was his left arm may have held his MP-5 submachine gun or M-92 pistol, just two of the accessories that he comes with. His uniform is complete with removable utility vest with four pockets that open,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], fatigues,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and removable belt and boots. He also comes with a communications radio and headset,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and a file folder containing aerial surveillance photos, and blueprints. He finished off with display stand that includes the Dead logo. The body also features over 30 points of articulation. Joes do not want to mess with! I also have to say that I love the simple elegance of the display box design. A plain white box with a bloody hand print Gold!
Just perfect for the season is the Santa Moms and dads, this is one Santa whose lap you don want your kids to sit on! He dressed in full Santa costume and it actually quite striking than the blood stains on his fake beard. Santa comes with his bag full of goodies which in his case includes a bottle of vodka and a pack of cigarettes. The most amusing accessory is the work related injury claim forms.
Two new figures are on the horizon for the first part of 2009. The first is Subject 2221: The Harbinger. Here we have a Catholic priest who failed to save his flock himself. His skull has been cracked open revealing his gray matter (or pink matter as the case may be). Zombie comes with an exquisitely detailed outfit including coat, pants,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], cummerbund,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], collar, shoes,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], bible, and rosary. This one is thoroughly killer!
Also due out very soon is Subject 138: The Street Prophet. When this street person walked around with a sign proclaiming the end of the world was near he had no idea how right he was! The Street Prophet is perfectly grubby in his tattered blue jeans and army jacket,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. The remnants of a beard are still on his nearly skull-like head,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. His accessories also include a leg gnawed off at the knee and his sign.
This is a winning line from sideshow. The attention to detail and the creativity of the sculpts are fantastic. The figures range in price from $54.99 to $69.00, and well worth it due to the craftsmanship. There not a horror fan around that would not love to see one of these under the tree on Christmas morning!
