MCLEAN, Va., May 23 () -- A U.S. military program for adaptive radar countermeasures will receive engineering services from SAIC through a multiple-award contract. The cost-plus-fixed-fee contract from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency is for a six-month base period of performance with 54 option months. The value of the contract to Science Applications International Corp. and another awardee would be $31.5 million if all options were exercised."We look forward to producing a comprehensive ARC solution that will potentially mitigate future advanced RF threats to airborne platforms," said John Fratamico, SAIC senior vice president and group general manager."This technology represents the trending future for current and new electronic warfare systems operated by our military."The Adaptive Radar Countermeasures program to provide airborne electronic warfare systems the capability to automatically generate effective countermeasures against new, unknown and adaptive radars in real-time.SAIC said its engineering services, offered through task order bids, would include design, development, integration and testing of a viable ARC system that allows "independent insertion of additional third-party algorithm developers."
