The outlook for holiday sales,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], according to the National Retail Federation, is,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], in a word,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], "average." NRF expects sales to rise 2.8 percent in 2011 compared to a robust recovery from the awful abyss of 2009 that last year drove sales 5.2 percent higher.
"Retailers are optimistic that a combination of strong promotions and lean inventory levels will help them address consumer caution this holiday season,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]," said NRF President and CEO Matthew Shay. "While businesses remain concerned over the viability of the economic recovery, there is no doubt that the retail industry is in a better position this year to handle consumer uncertainty than it was in 2008 and 2009."
