About 0.5 mile farther is a 1.5-foot ledge followed in 100 yards by a 2-foot ledge; 0.5 mile farther is another 2-foot ledge with a channel on the right. Character: wooded; flat.

This is a really great trail for beginners and those wanting to get into whitewater but don't know where to start. In October of 2010 it was just runnable. There are plenty of long flatwater sections between many of these Class 1-2 rapids,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and even a few waves for those who want to give surfing a try.
The best way to do the trail is to go the whole way to Sheridan though. There are not a lot of rapids on this section,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but the best ones are,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], including Conifer falls. A 4 foot ledge drop that makes a rough whole on river left with a strainer immediately following the whole. River right has a great passage that is a wonderful place to practice boofing. Also,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the best surfing wave on the whole trail lies shortly before arriving in Sheridan within 100 feet of a railroad bridge that crosses overhead.
The disadvantage to running this section is that there are not many take out spots though. The park in Sheridan is the best place that I have found so far,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. In the future I am hoping that accommodations can be made with some of the land not being used near the river.
