Now that you've started to think about the ways nature can nurture you and your family, what are you waiting for? Go outside and play! Outside play does not have to be organized. Let the sounds, smells and sights of the world outside guide your family's experience.
Planning in advance will help you have successful outside experiences. Most often, you will not need any special equipment, but you and your family might put together a backpack of supplies to hang beside the door so that you're ready to head outside at a moment's notice. See "Explorer's Kit" on this page for ideas about items to include.
Prepare for the great outdoors by dressing for the season:
Winter: coats, hats,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], mittens, boots.
Spring and fall: rain jacket and mud boots.
Summer: sun hat,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], sunglasses,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and sneakers.
Another thing to gather is information about local community resources. Where are the nearby parks and trails? How about nature centers with family-friendly programming? Also share this information with teachers or childcare providers,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. Let them know how important it is for children to go outside every day.
Have fun! Enjoy the world that is around you,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]! Remember to make time to play outside every day,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]!
Don't insult one another or the subjects of BDN stories. You may be ticked off at what someone did or said, but you can explain that without resorting to name-calling or obscenity. Remember that young people are on this site too.
That nasty line that makes your buddies go "haw,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], haw"? You're better than that.
Comments should be your own work, not copied and pasted from elsewhere,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], though brief quoted passages to make your point are fine. And please don't use all capital letters. There's no need to shout.
Stay focused on the issue in the article. Off-topic posts will be deleted.
This isn't a forum to chat about your personal life,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
Some ideas the fate of the earth, abortion, gun control,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the nature of God aren't going to be resolved in a reader forum, so no need to get frustrated if others don't see your point of view. State your position once and leave it at that.
If you mouse over each comment you will see a "Flag" button. Please use it if you feel comments on the site are out of line. And we'll keep moderating posts to try to ensure everyone meets those standards,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
